At Endangered Distilling Co., simplicity is at the heart of our purpose. We are driven by the staggering amount of food waste in Australia, where over eight billion dollars’ worth of food is discarded annually, equivalent to 400,000 tonnes of edible food. This wastage not only squanders valuable resources like water and fuel but also contributes to the emission of methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
As individuals who have witnessed the extent of food waste in the hospitality industry, we founded the Endangered Distilling Co. project with the primary goal of sparking conversations about our power to effect positive change. By simply asking ourselves, “Am I really done with this?” before discarding something, we can make a meaningful impact.
Each of our spirits releases is born from diverted food waste, such as bread, bagels, cherries, and most recently, cold-pressed juice. While we acknowledge that we are not perfect, we are committed to the cause and enjoying the journey along the way.
