Bellarine Distillery, founded in 2015 by Russ Watson & Lorelle Warren, proudly stands as the first distillery on the Bellarine Peninsula and the greater Geelong region since the closure of Corio Distillery in the 1980s. The idea was sparked after a visit to Scotland in 2012, where the allure of the highlands inspired the concept of starting their own distillery. It took six years from inception to the opening of their doors to the public, with their first still named “Ronald” being a significant milestone in their journey.

Bass and Flinders Distillery, established in 2009 on the Mornington Peninsula, crafts high-quality gins, brandies, and liqueurs that embody our coastal home and heritage. As pioneers in the region, we use traditional techniques, double-distilling Victorian wine, and infusing uniquely Australian flavors. Our spirits capture the essence of the Mornington Peninsula, representing our spirit of adventure and innovation.

Located in a serene setting, half way between Beechworth and Yackandandah, you’ll find Barking Owl Distillery nestled on a working property. Housed in a charming 1950’s traditional Australian shearing shed, our distillery offers a unique and picturesque experience.

Inside the still house, you’ll find a vibrant atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, complemented by bar facilities. Whether you drop by spontaneously or make a booking, we welcome you to enjoy our delightful tasting plates or savor one of our signature cocktails and mixed drinks.

Bakery Hill Distillery, a family-owned and operated establishment, has earned a distinguished reputation for crafting world-renowned single malt whiskies for over two decades. Founded by former chemistry teacher David Baker, who aimed to challenge the notion that exceptional whiskies could only be made in Scotland due to its ‘special air and water,’ Bakery Hill set out to prove otherwise in Melbourne, Australia.

Throughout the years, Bakery Hill Distillery has garnered widespread acclaim and recognition, both locally and globally. Notably, they were awarded Southern Hemisphere Whisky of the Year in 2020 and Best Small Distillery Whisky of the Year in 2005 by Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.

Beyond producing and selling their exceptional whisky products, the Bakery Hill team is dedicated to educating Victorians and whisky enthusiasts worldwide about the art of real whisky production and the various ways to enjoy this timeless spirit. The Apollo Bay Distillery offers a sanctuary from the bustling noise and commotion of daily life. Its purpose is to preserve the stories of the town and embody the essence of Apollo Bay.

At this distillery, they create small-batch gin and vodka right on the premises with their copper column still. These gins are a tribute to the ships that once braved the perilous coastline, serving as a powerful reminder of Apollo Bay’s maritime past. Situated in the former Post Office, constructed in 1970, the distillery also proudly displays the anchor of the historic SS Casino, which met its unfortunate fate off one of the local beaches.

A visit to the distillery would not be complete without experiencing a gin flight, featuring their meticulously crafted gins made from local botanicals, distilled on-site. These one-of-a-kind artisan gins are best savored alongside a freshly made wood-fired pizza, prepared using top-quality flour and ingredients. If you prefer, you can also sample their Nitro Vodkas on their own or mixed into a refreshing cocktail.

The distillery takes pride in collaborating with a range of local businesses, including Hello Coffee, who supplies them with delectable locally roasted coffee beans.

Anther Spirits, founded in 2016 by Dervilla McGowan and Sebastian Reaburn, combines their 45+ years of experience in the hospitality industry with a scientific approach to distillation. With Dervilla’s PhD in Microbiology and Sebastian’s expertise as a cocktail maker, they have crafted nationally and internationally acclaimed spirits.

Led by Dr.D’s scientific knowledge, Anther Spirits embraces the art of flavor exploration. Collaborating with local foragers and growers, they celebrate the wonders of Australian botanicals. Passionate about plants and driven by curiosity, their recipes draw on the rich history of spirit making, while their distillation methods blend creativity and science to uncover bold, new flavors.
