The story of The Pomona Distilling Co goes beyond being just a distillery. It’s a tale of a close-knit community that supports one another, a way to introduce the beauty of Pomona to the world, and a commitment to creating a unique concept and high-quality product rather than focusing on mass production. When you visit our farm, you won’t find stacks of our product taking up space. Instead, you’ll come across meticulously handcrafted bottles of premium spirits that have been painstakingly purified with activated charcoal and aged just right to honor the botanicals’ journey and give them the respect they deserve.

This remarkable story has been unfolding for our Master Distiller and owner, Robin Yates, for four decades. His love for the art of distilling dates back to his university days when he would experiment with distillation in the chemistry lab while pursuing a degree in Industrial Chemistry.

The distillery always triple distills our spirits in small batches, ensuring a top-notch quality. Ben Pechey, our Chief Distiller, personally crafts each batch by taste, guaranteeing a clean and smooth experience for you. Ever since we opened our doors in 2020, we have continuously expanded our collection of spirits. Alongside our staple range, we offer a variety of unique and seasonal releases. However, our story doesn’t end here. We are excited to announce that our journey will venture into whiskey production starting in 2023.

Paradise Distillers, situated on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia, is a company dedicated to creating brands that bring joy to all. Drawing from our extensive experience of over 30 years in the wine and spirit industry, we have always aspired to craft products that we can proudly call our own. Having called the Gold Coast our home for three decades (with my wife being a native and me being a local transplant), we wanted our creation to embody elements of our upbringing. For instance, the image of a pool on our label resembles the one my wife fondly swam in as a child during her family’s residence in Surfers Paradise. This label concept originated from her, who sketched the original draft, while my father skillfully completed the final artwork. Whenever feasible, we collaborated with nearby businesses within a 15KM radius of our residence. From bottling and labeling (thanks to Gold Coast label company), to point-of-sale arrangements (courtesy of a Southport-based company), and even packaging materials (boxes sourced from Burleigh), the entire process became a true family affair, with our children, brother-in-law, and close friends lending a helping hand.
